This evening NBC's College Football Talk reported that Pittsburgh Panthers head coach Paul Chryst has named red-shirt sophomore Chad Voytik as the teams starting quarterback.
Chad Voytik entering spring camp was already the heavily favorite to win the starting job but the Panthers did not want to announce it until they looked all the other quarterbacks. The only quarterback that ultimately proved to be a threat to Voytik is his current backup, senior quarterback Trey Anderson.
The Pittsburgh Panthers have had a hard time the past three seasons working with their quarterbacks due to the eligibility's. The Panthers has had three different starting quarterbacks in the past three seasons from Tino Sunseri to Tom Savage and now Chad Voytik.
Voytik is only a red-shirt sophomore so he will be able to be a constant quarterback on the Panthers over the next couple of seasons unless things change otherwise.
