As apart of the mandatory roster cuts around the league it is hard to see some of your personal favorite players get cut from their rosters and one of my personal favorites Ryan Lindley was cut today along with kicker Jay Feely from the Arizona Cardinals.
Lindley has been with the Arizona Cardinals since 2012 when he was drafted in the 6th round out of San Diego State University. Lindley's time with the Cardinals was very lackluster due to his time being forced chances to come in and play on pure desperation. The Cardinals over the past couple of seasons have had troubles landing a solid quarterback and Lindley feel victim to the troubles. The team has bounced around from John Skelton, Ryan Lindley, Brian Hoyer and finally landed Carson Palmer.
The Cardinals addressed the position in free agency and the draft over the past year or so gaining Drew Stanton via free agency and most recently drafting Logan Thomas in this years draft. But with three quarterbacks on the roster the team will not afford to have 4 quarterbacks on the roster and Lindley is that victim.
With Lindley now hitting the open market there could be a chance for him to latch onto a team who would want depth at quarterback. With teams already loaded up on quarterbacks right now Lindley will not be getting many phone calls as teams are also in the process of waiving players. But expect some buzz around Lindley's name in the coming future.
